I’ll Keep Pressing On

I’ll Keep Pressing On

The saints from Tobago asked me to write a song for them. I prayed about it
and while I was going to class one day, I thought about the pressures that
Christians face in their daily lives and I remembered the message that Bro.
Vin and Bro. Sammy was preaching on Ruth, where Ruth wasn’t concerned about what
people thought about her being a stranger in a strange land and I got the
thought and the melody for the song especially the chorus. Because of our DNA
we have what it takes to live the Word and that’s the inspiration for “I’LL
KEEP PRESSING ON”.

Lyrics

I'll Keep Pressing On

Like my forefathers did
and their fathers before them
They kept the Word of God
within their hearts
Through tears and toils they
fought with conviction in their souls
Now their children have an inheritance
The faith of the Lord

CHORUS
For whatever it takes
I’ll keep pressing on
Whatever trials come my way
I’ll be pressing further
For what shall separate me from
the love of Christ Jesus my Lord
I’ve counted the cost,
I’ll pick up my cross
And keep pressing on
I’ll finish my course with joy (2x)

Like my sister Ruth it is within my make-up
To fulfill the task Adam did not fulfill
For such a time as this I must
bring forth this Christ child
And be perseverant in spite of all obstacles
